Over two days, April 7-8, 2026, we held a limited-capacity seminar at the AWS Malaysia office in Kuala Lumpur. The theme was "Improving Business Efficiency with Cloud and AI." We invited presales engineers from Japan to deliver content focused on how to implement evolving AI technologies in actual business settings to improve productivity.

Background

Currently, interest in generative AI is extremely high in Malaysia. However, many companies struggle with questions like "How can we specifically incorporate it into our operations?" and "How should we approach security and cost concerns?"

Therefore, we organized this seminar as a forum to discuss practical "efficiency improvements you can use tomorrow" by utilizing the latest AWS solutions.

1. Challenges Faced by Japanese Companies in Malaysia
   We raised issues surrounding Japanese companies in Malaysia from the perspective of management resources (people, things, and money), including difficulties in recruiting and retaining talent, aging facilities, rising labor costs, and the weak yen. We then introduced cloud and AI as means to solve these problems.

2. The Advantages of AWS as a Cloud Foundation
   To maximize AI utilization, a robust and scalable cloud foundation is essential. We explained AWS environment best practices for seamlessly collecting and processing data, and connecting to AI models.

3. Cutting-edge Business Automation with Generative AI
   We explained the current state of AI and introduced the following case studies and simple demonstrations using AWS AI services (Bedrock, Amazon Quick, Kiro, GenU, Amazon Connect, etc.):

• AI-driven development
• Amazon Connect
• AI-powered data analysis

In-depth Discussions Unique to Small-Group Settings

We invited a total of 8 customers to this small-scale seminar. Unlike large conferences, the small format allowed for interactive Q&A and valuable exchanges where engineers and consultants could provide immediate answers to specific business challenges faced by participants. We received positive feedback from participants such as "I gained an understanding of the latest AI use cases" and "I got hints on how to incorporate AI into our company's services."
