1. under the hood

車に由来する表現で、直訳だと「ボンネットの下」、転じて システムの裏側の仕組み、動作の仕組み、という意味になります。

タイトルに「under the hood」が使われているセッションは結構多くて、ざっと検索してみたところ、下記のセッションが該当するようでした。

要約すれば、手短に言えば。

このフレーズは、オライリー社の書籍のシリーズ名で有名？ですね。

周囲の、環境の、という意味。人が能動的に働きかけなくても、コンピューターやインターネットをバックグランドで活用することができる状態のこと。

溝、裂け目。「キャズム理論」とは、ジェフリー・ムーア氏が提唱したマーケティング理論。初期市場で成功した製品が、メインストリーム市場へ移行できずに、溝(キャズム)に落ちて消えていく現象を指し、キャズムを乗り越えるためのマーケティングアプローチを示した理論。

まとめ

個人的な話題になりますが、2019年の2大ニュースの1つ目は、所属会社がオンライン英会話・レアジョブを法人契約し、同僚たちの間でオンライン英会話が一種のブームになったこと ^*1。 2つ目はre:Inventに参加させていただいたことでした。
