[アップデート] Amazon Lightsail で AlmaLinux が使えるようになりました

今朝のアップデートで Amazon Lightsail にて AlmaLinux が使えるようになりました。
Lightsail が AlmaLinux をサポートしたのは初ですね。少し前に Lightsail + AlmaLinux についてお問い合わせを頂いたこともあったので私にとっては中々タイムリーなアップデートです。

OS のみと cPanel & WHM インストール版の 2 つが提供されている

注意点として、ブループリントとしてはオペレーティングシステムのみの AlmaLinux イメージと、cPanel & WHM 同梱版が提供されています。

後者は別途 cPanel & WHM の有料ライセンスを用意して BYOL する必要があります。

単純に AlmaLinux のみを使いたい場合は「オペレーティングシステム（OS）のみ」から「AlmaLinux」を選択してください。

IPv6 のみも対応

Amazon Lightsail は IPv4 を割り当てない「IPv6 のみ」というネットワークタイプを選択することが出来ます。

AlmaLinux (OS のみ) は IPv6 のみをサポートしていました。一方で cPanel 版は IPv6 のみはサポートしていません。

バージョンは本日時点では 9.3 のみ

リリース＆カーネルバージョンは次のとおりです。

本日時点では 9.3 のみサポートされていますが、AlmaLinux 8 のアクティブサポートは 2024 年 5 月 1 日で終了しますし 9 系のサポートのみで問題無いと思います。
AlmaLinux 9.3 は 2023 年 11 月 13 日にリリースされた最新版で、アクティブサポートは 2027 年 5 月 31 日まで、セキュリティサポートは 2032 年 5 月 31 日までとされています。

念の為、無効なブループリントも含めて一覧を確認してみましたが、Amazon Lightsail で本日時点でサポートされている AlmaLinux イメージは 9.3 のみですね。

さいごに

本日は Amazon Lightsail で AlmaLinux が使えるようになったので確認してみました。
Lightsail では他にも多様なディストリビューションのブループリントが提供されていますが、最近選択肢が増えてきていて良いですね。

9.4 が出たタイミングでアップデート周りも確認してみたいと思います。
