AWS Media Servicesの2025年を振り返ってみる
はじめに
清水です。2025年もあとわずかとなりました。ここ数年、大晦日のこのタイミングでAWS Media Servicesにまつわる1年間のアップデートを振り返るブログエントリをまとめてきました。私の中で年末の恒例行事となりつつあるので、今年も例年にもれずまとめてみたいと思います！
昨年2024年の振り返りエントリでは、それまでから少し趣を変えてWhat's New at AWSにポストされたアップデートのうちAWS Media SevicesなものをContent CreationカテゴリとContent Distributionカテゴリに大別、その中でContent Distributionカテゴリは各サービスごとにアップデートをまとめるという形式でお届けしました。
今年も昨年2024年の内容を踏襲しつつ、よりAWS Media ServiceのContent Distributionカテゴリに焦点を当てていきます。具体的にはWhat's New at AWSのページのFilterで"Filter by category"で"Media Services"を選択、それらの項目をAWS Media Sevicesのページ基準でContent Distribution（コンテンツ配信）カテゴリとContent Creation（コンテンツ制作）カテゴリ、そしてその他のカテゴリにまとめます。（そういえば、What's New at AWSページのUIが変わったのもたしか2025年からでしたよね。）さらにAWS Media Servicesのうち、AWS Elementalと頭につくサービス（AWS Elemental Media Services）ならびにAmazon Interactive Video Service（Amazon IVS）の各サービスについて、AWS CLIのCHANGELOGからAPIベースのアップデートについてもまとめてみました。

AWS Media Servicesの2025年をWhat's New at AWSから振り返る
まずはWhat's New at AWSにポストされたアップデートのうちMedia Servicesに分類されるものを確認していきましょう。
Content Distribution（コンテンツ配信）
まずはContent Distribution（コンテンツ配信）カテゴリです。合計16件のアップデートがありました。
AWS Elemental MediaConnect
- コンテンツ品質メトリクスをサポート
- NDI outputsをサポート
- MediaConneect Routerを発表
MediaConnectでは3件のアップデートがありました。re:Invent前に発表された新機能MediaConnect Routerが個人的にとても気になっています！
AWS Elemental MediaConvert
- Time-Addressable Media Store（TAMS）のサポートを開始
MediaConvertでは1件のアップデートがありました。TAMSについてはBBCのサイトに説明がありますね、オープンソースプロジェクトで設計などについてはGitHubでも公開されているようです。
AWS Elemental MediaLive
- MediaLive AnywhereでSMPTE 2110 inputsをサポート
- AWS Elemental Link UHDがLink HDの販売終了に伴いHD取り込み料金を追加
MediaLiveのアップデートはElemental Link関連をを含めて2件でした。昨年2024年にリリースされたMediaLive Anywhereが機能拡充されるを喜ばしつつ思いつつ、Link HDの販売終了が個人的には残念なニュースでした。
AWS Elemental MediaTailor
- ログフィルタリングをサポート
- VASTレスポンスによるBYOA（Bring-Your-Own-Ads）をサポート
- 追加の宛先へのログ配信をサポート
- VOD広告挿入コストを抑えた新しい料金モデルを発表
- ライブストリーミング用の定期的な広告プリフェッチを導入
- ライブストリーミング用のHLS Interstitialsをサポート
MediaTailorでは6件のアップデートがありました。ログまわりなど堅実なアップデートをしつつHLS Interstitialsなど新機能も対応、そして新しい料金モデルなど、嬉しいアップデートがたくさんありましたね。
Amazon Interactive Video Service
- Amazon IVS Real-Time Streamingで参加者のレプリケーションをサポート
- Amazon IVS Real-Time StreamingでE-RTMPマルチトラックビデオをサポート
- Amazon IVSがInterface VPC Endpoint経由のプライベートインジェストをサポート
Amaozn IVSでは合計3件のアップデートでした。そのうち2件はIVS Real-Time Streamingのもの、1件はIVS Low-Latency StreamingならびにReal-Time Streamingの双方に関連するアップデートでした。
Amazon Kinesis Video Streams
- Amazon Kinesis Video Streams WebRTC Multi-Viewerを発表
Kinesis Video Streamsでは1件のアップデートがありました。
Content Creation（コンテンツ制作）
続いてはContent Creation（コンテンツ制作）カテゴリのアップデートです。15件のアップデートがあり、そのうち14件はAWS Deadline Cloudのものでした！
AWS Deadline Cloud

- 固定リソースを効果的に管理するための設定可能なな制限をサポート
- サービスマネージドフリートでAdob eAFter Effectsのサポートを開始
- IPv6をサポート

- Deadline Cloud Monitorで複数の言語をサポート
- Workerのパフォーマンスモニタリングをサポート

AWS Deadline Cloudでは14件のアップデートがありました。昨年2024年に発表されたAWS Deadline Cloudですが、サービスごとで分類すると最もアップデートの多かったサービスとなります！
AWS Thinkbox Deadline
- Thinkbox Dadline 10.4.1がリリース

AWS Thinkbox Deadlineでは1件のアップデートがありました。なお、AWS Thinkbox Deadline 10は2025/11/07よりメンテナンスモードとなっており、また新規顧客への提供が終了している状態となります。（AWS Thinkbox）
そのほか
そのほかとして3件のアップデートがMedia Servicesとして分類されていました。2件がAmazon Bedrock Data Automation、1件がAWS RTB Fabricに関するものです。
Amazon Bedrock Data Automation
- Amazon Bedrock Data Automationで動画の追加フォーマットと画像の高速処理をサポート
- Amazon Bedrock Data Automationが同期画像処理をサポート
2025年3月にGAされたAmazon Bedrock Data Automationの動画、画像処理に関するアップデート2件、がMedia Servicesとしてカテゴライズされています。
AWS RTB Fabric
- リアルタイム入札ワークロード向けのAWS RTB Fabricがリリース
AWSの新サービスRTB FabricのリリースアップデートがMedia Servicesとしてカテゴライズされています。
AWS Media Servicesの2025年をAWS CLIのCHANGELOGから振り返る
まずはWhat's New at AWSにポストされた、Media Servicesにカテゴライズされるアップデートを確認してきました。全34件、そのうちAWS Elemental Media ServicesやAmazon IVSに関するものが割と少なかった印象です。他にもあったよな、ということで、AWS CLIのCHANGELOGからAPIのアップデートベースでAWS Elemental Media ServicesならびにAmazon IVSに関するものをリストアップしてみました。 順序は新しいものが先頭にきています。 また"Update endpoint ruleset parameters casing"といった直接的に関係ないであろうアップデートは除いています。
どれが2025年のアップデートだったか（2024年とのアップデートの境目）の確認にはAWS API Changesのサイトを活用しました。
AWS Elemental MediaConnect
MediaConnectでは5件のAPI更新がありました。

mediaconnect: This release adds support for NDI flow outputs in AWS Elemental MediaConnect. You can now send content from your MediaConnect transport streams directly to your NDI environment using the new NDI output type.- api-change:

AWS Elemental MediaConvert
MediaConvertでは17件のAPI更新がありました。個人的にはProbe APIの登場が大きかったかなと思います！アニメーションGIF対応もなされましたね。

AWS Elemental MediaLive
MediaLiveでは20件のAPI更新がありました。年末に登場した「Pipeline Locking using Video Alignment」はどんなものなのか！？興味津々です。

MediaPackageでは9件のAPI更新がありました。なお、いずれもMediaPackage V2（mediapackgev2）のもので、MediaPackage v1（mediapackageならびにmediapackage-vod）については2025年のAPI更新はありませんでした。

MediaTailorでは7件のAPI更新がありました。

Amazon Interactive Video Service
Amazon IVSではReal-Time Streamingで5件のAPI更新がありました。（Low-Latency Streamingは0件でした。）

まとめ
AWS Media Servicesの2025年のアップデートについて、What’s New at AWS – Cloud Innovation & NewsにポストされたもののうちMedia ServicesカテゴリにFilterされるもの、ならびにAWS Elemental Media ServicesとAmazon IVSの各サービスについてはAWS CLIのCHANGELOGの内容から、それぞれ振り返ってみました。
What's New at AWSをベースとしたアップデート個数は独自集計で合計34個のアップデートがありました。半数近くをAWS Deadline Cloudが占めていたことに少し驚きです。
ではAWS Elemental Media ServicesなどContent Distributionカテゴリではアップデートがなかったというとそうではなく、APIベースではたくさんのアップデートがあったことが、AWS CLIのCHANGELOGから確認できましたね。個人的にはWhat's New at AWSに掲載されていなくても、大きなアップデートがいくつもあった印象を持っています。
さて、最後に今年2025年はAWS Elementalが10周年を迎えた年であったことにも触れておきましょう。2015年9月にElemental TechnologiesがAWSに買収されAWS Elementalとなりました。2017年のAWS Elemental Media Services GAなど、たくさんのアップデート・イノベーションがありましたね。今年2025年後半のMediaConnecto Routerの発表など、今後もますます目が離せないなと思っています🎉
